Class Privacy Policy

A new EU data protection and privacy law comes into force on the 25th May 2018, it is called "General Data Protection Regulation" (GDPR) in English. GDPR has to be adhered to by all businesses/organisations whether for profit/nonprofit/volunteer/member [including sports organisations like sailing clubs and class associations] that store, process and make use of data that can identify an individual person.

The Osprey Class Association [UK] committee have produced a Class Privacy Policy document as required by GDPR which is based on their current understanding of GDPR. This document may be updated as new guidance, from likes of RYA and others, becomes available.

Celebrating Ian Proctors Centenary Year

Following the talk by Cliff Norbury at the Nationals last year we are considering putting on a race for Osprey's round the Isle of Wight on the weekend of 15th and 16th September. The race would potentially be from Lymington Town Sailing Club going anti-clockwise round the Island with a start time of around 06:00. This is a significantly challenging undertaking and requires both boat and crew to be suitably experienced and fit for the conditions. It is likely that we will require participants to contribute by finding suitable RIBs and crews to accompany the Ospreys.

In order to establish the practicality of this event could anyone who would propose to compete please let David Downs know.
