Round the Island Race

Gul Osprey Round the Isle of Wight Race 15th & 16th September

While there are still several i's to dot and t's to cross we have made some good progress on an Osprey Round the Island race in September this year. Not least in getting Mike Pickers to sponsor it. The next step has been completed, in that the Entry Form and Pre-Race Checklist are now available via links below. The Sailing Instructions are now available via link below.

Entries are limited to twenty boats, this is the most that we consider we have the facilities to deal with.  If more than twenty entries are received by 31st August then priority will be given to the fifteen teams that have previously registered interest either through Facebook or by email and then on a first come, first served basis.  Completed entry forms to be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. We will be looking for competitors to help in getting RIBs etc available and may well be asking competitors to record their finish times themselves. It is likely that Roger Proctor will be the official race starter.

I should point out that this race is not something to be undertaken lightly, will take around 10 hours and for a significant part there will be limited or no places of refuge therefore both boat and crew must be fit for the race.

It will however be a significant achievement to have successfully completed.
